The Stress and Resiliency Coach certification is a 30-hour coach specific training program, with an emphasis on stress management, anxiety reduction, nonclinical trauma reduction techniques, and behavioral change to support the development of hardiness and resiliency. This uniquely crafted program is designed to support formally trained coaches and mental health professionals to guide clients in managing stress, identifying and implementing appropriate behavioral change initiatives, reducing clinical burnout, managing anxiety, disseminating nonclinical trauma reduction coping strategies, navigating secondary trauma, and building hardiness and resilience through the foundational 3C’s of hardiness and the supporting 7C’s of resiliency.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this program, participants will be able to:
•Implement positive coping strategies to reduce stress.
•Describe the importance of developing hardiness to reduce the negative impact of high stress environments.
•Apply the 3 C’s (Challenge, Control, & Commitment) of hardiness as a tool to identify options to develop self-awareness and design actions within the goal setting process for individuals and group coaching.
•Utilize nonclinical trauma reduction techniques in individual and group coaching.
•Demonstrate brief coaching techniques for goal setting and crisis response situations.
•Define secondary trauma
•List common responses to trauma
•Identify who is at greater risk for secondary trauma
•Discuss self-care and trauma reduction techniques.
•Implement 4 sleep hygiene techniques.
•Define clinical burnout.
•Implement a 3 step coaching process to reduce clinical burnout
